Summertime Fun keeps Scouting going during the summer. Join three Cub Scout activities between May and August and enjoy time outdoors with your den, pack, or family. It's an easy way to stay connected over the break.
Why it's worth it
Summer is when Scouting gets outside and stays there: day camp, pack picnics, swim days, and family hikes. This adventure is about staying connected with your den over the break, so you start the next year already caught up with friends and ready for Arrow of Light. Three activities is all it takes.
Start this week
- Ask your den leader for the pack's summer calendar and circle three things that look fun.
- Ask your adult about Cub Scout day camp or family camp dates in your council.
- Start a summer list on the fridge where you write each Scouting activity you do.
Plan ahead: Only activities between May and August count. Pick your three early in the summer so a busy month doesn't crowd them out.

- Requirement 1
Take part in three Cub Scout activities in all, any time from May through August
Tip: Try day camp, a pack picnic, a hike, or a swim day. Keep a list of what you did.
For example: Your three might be Cub Scout day camp in June, a pack swim party in July, and a den hike with a picnic in August. Free ideas count too, like a den service project at a park or a pack movie night outdoors. Write the date and one thing you did at each.
Talk about it together
- Which summer activity was your favorite, and why?
- What did you try for the first time this summer?
- Who did you get to know better over the summer?
- What are you looking forward to in your Arrow of Light year?
